Firstly we wish to thank everyone who has assisted in this campaign. The effort put in by the SPLAG committee and road reps over the last few years have been rewarded by the continued support of residents who have consistently turned out in vast numbers at each meeting to show the level of feeling against this development.

SPLAG has made a great effort to present reasoned arguments, drill into the facts and ensure that all concerns have been addressed. Sadly all of this effort did not manage to persuade the planning committee last night to reject the application. Whilst it was stated that the committee could only act on planning matters and had to dismiss the emotion or strength of support from affected residents, it is still puzzling how the traffic issue did not manage to initiate a proposal for rejecting the application.

There will now be a public consultation to gain the TROs required for the No Right Turn into London Road and the 30mph speed limit on Binfield Road so there will be further opportunity to raise concerns. We will continue to review the situation and keep you posted.
